MetroWorlds users using Google Chrome as their primary browser will need to do a bit of additional work to login to Metropolis. The reason for this is that Google Chrome manages file associations independently from other browsers as an added security against malware/viruses.
Go to the login page, create an account and go to login. Once you input your details and clicked on the login button, it will download a file to your computer. A bar will appear down the bottom of your screen with the file showing. Click the drop down menu box next to the file and select ‘Always open files of this type’.
Once you’ve done this, click login once more. A box will appear saying Windows can’t open this file: and offer you this choice “Select a program from a list of installed programs”. Click this and select OK.
On the following screen you’ll see an option to browse. Select this and navigate to where you installed the WorldsAway client (most commonly C:\wa20 but you may have installed it elsewhere on your system).
Once you are in the wa20 folder, select wa32.exe and click ok. Then click ok again on the open with screen, making sure the “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” option is selected.
Once you’ve done this, click okay. Depending on how long this takes you, you might get a box pop up saying Error. This is perfectly normal as when you request a login, the server gives you 60 seconds and then invalidates the login to prevent abuse. Try to login again and you should get in fine!
